11 Banks in Indonesia Officially Closed as of August 2026, Here Are the Names
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has officially closed eleven People’s Economy Banks (BPR) up to August 2026. Most recently, the OJK revoked the business licence of a BPR in Bekasi on 19 August 2026.
After the business licences were revoked, all operational activities of the banks were halted and their offices closed. However, the process of settling customer rights and the obligations of each bank will be carried out by liquidation teams formed by the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS).
Meanwhile, directors, boards of commissioners, and shareholders of each bank whose licence was revoked are prohibited from taking legal action related to the bank’s assets and liabilities without written approval from the LPS.
