11,800 People Join Free Homecoming Programme with PSI, 200 Buses Depart from GBK
Jakarta — Approximately 11,800 people participated in the PSI Mudik Asik 2026 free homecoming programme at the Eastern Car Park of Senayan’s Gelora Bung Karno stadium in Central Jakarta on Saturday, 14 March 2026.
The free homecoming programme dispatched around 200 buses to several cities across Java Island. At the departure location, PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep bid farewell to participants, accompanied by his wife Erina Gudono.
Also present was PSI Secretary-General and Indonesian Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni. Raja Juli Antoni stated that the free homecoming programme represented PSI’s effort to make the Eid al-Fitr celebration more festive and joyful.
According to him, the tradition of mudik holds significant meaning for Indonesian society approaching the Lebaran celebrations.
“Homecoming is not merely a physical relocation from city to village, but it is also about maintaining family bonds, part of wealth distribution from the capital to rural areas, and later will foster new spirits of struggle in the capital once Lebaran has concluded,” he said.
Before the formal farewell, Kaesang and Erina visited several buses to greet the homebound passengers departing for their hometowns.
Shortly thereafter, Kaesang officially dispatched the 200 free homecoming buses. The participants were sent to several cities across Java Island, including Cirebon, Semarang, Solo, Madiun, and Surabaya.
Also present were PSI Vice-Chairman and Deputy Minister for Population and Family Development Isyana Bagoes Oka, PSI Treasurer-General Fenty Noverita, and other senior PSI officials.
