11,727 Sacrificial Animals in Cirebon Pass Health Checks for Eid al-Adha

Cirebon Regency Agriculture Department has tightened health checks for sacrificial animals ahead of Eid al-Adha 2026. Inspections are being conducted at livestock farms and selling points across various areas of Cirebon Regency.

Denny Nugraha, Head of the Livestock and Animal Health Department at the Cirebon Regency Agriculture Department, stated that as of Monday, 25 May 2026, 11,727 sacrificial animals had been inspected. This was to ensure the animals are healthy and safe for public consumption.

‘Animals declared healthy receive a SKKHQ (Animal Health Certificate for Sacrifice),’ said Denny on Tuesday (26 May 2026).

In addition to pre-slaughter checks, the Agriculture Department has prepared monitoring during the sacrifice process. Officers will conduct ante-mortem and post-mortem inspections at various slaughter sites during Eid al-Adha.

These measures ensure slaughtered animals meet health standards and the distributed meat is safe for consumption. He urged the public to be vigilant when purchasing sacrificial animals, ensuring they are healthy and meet the required age criteria.

For Eid al-Adha 2026, Cirebon Regency also received a communal donation of one sacrificial cow from Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. The Simmental breed cow weighs 1,062 kilograms, exceeding one tonne.

The presidential donation came from Abdul Azis, owner of Lembu Muda Do’a Ibu Farm in Tegalgubug Village, Arjawinangun District, Cirebon Regency. It is scheduled to be slaughtered at Masjid Agung Sumber on Eid al-Adha 2026.
