JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Amalia Adininggar, revealed that 11,014 people will no longer receive social assistance under the Family Hope Programme (PKH) and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) for the second quarter of 2026.

Amalia explained that these thousands of individuals were removed based on the tri-monthly update to the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN).

“We have cleaned up the population that previously received social assistance; we reviewed that they are people who should not receive assistance or were removed—around 11,014 people. This is what we call, once again, an inclusion error,” said Amalia at the Ministry of Social Affairs office in Central Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026).

As a result, they are no longer recorded as eligible groups for social assistance.

“There were around 1,511 families in deciles five to ten. This has become part of the inclusion error of those 11,014,” Amalia stated.

Meanwhile, Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf emphasised that some members of the public who previously never received social assistance now have the opportunity to do so.

This data update is in follow-up to President Instruction No. 4 of 2025, which aims to ensure that social assistance and community empowerment are more on target.

“This data is crucial but very determining for social assistance or government aid to be on target,” he said.

If there are protests from the public, Saifullah invites them to lodge complaints through the channels provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs, including village operators, neighbourhood associations (RT and RW), Social Services, Command Centre 121, or WA Centre 08877171171.
