109 officers complete course

JAKARTA (JP): Chief of the City Military Center Regiment Col.
Sudrajat closed yesterday a three-month training course for low-
ranking officers at the center in East Jakarta.

About 109 soldiers from the city military command, the elite
Army special command, the Army strategic command, the Indonesian
Armed Forces headquarters and the ministry of defense and security
participated in the course.

City Military Command Chief Maj. Gen. Wiranto told the troops
to do their best to put into practice in their daily lives what
they had learnt during the course in order to show the people
that the Armed Forces did not belong to a certain group but to
the people as a whole.

"It is important for the troops to be sensitive towards
problems faced by people in society to prevent any untoward
incidents which occur in the future," Wiranto said. (yns).
