Jakarta, VIVA – The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has once again carried out a large-scale rotation among its high-ranking officers (Pati) and mid-level officers (Pamen). A total of 108 personnel are included in the May 2026 transfer list, encompassing several provincial police chiefs and main officials at Polri headquarters.

The transfers are detailed in the Chief of Police Telegram Letter Number: ST/960/V/KEP./2026 dated 7 May 2026. The position shifts are intended for promotions, organisational refreshment, and approaching retirement.

The Head of the Polri Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Eddizon Isir, stated that job mutations are part of the career development process as well as strengthening the organisation within Polri.

“Job mutations and rotations are a natural aspect of the Polri organisation. This is part of career development, organisational refreshment, and efforts to enhance personnel professionalism in facing increasingly dynamic task challenges,” he said, quoted on Saturday, 9 May 2026.

Of the total 108 personnel transferred, 91 personnel are experiencing promotions or equivalent or flat position shifts. Position changes occur in several strategic roles, both within Polri headquarters and regional areas.

One important position that has changed is the Head of the Polri Education and Training Centre, now held by Commissioner General of Police R. Z. Panca Putra S. This rotation also targets nine provincial police chief positions. They include the West Sumatra Provincial Police Chief Inspector General of Police Djati Wiyoto Abadhy, North Kalimantan Provincial Police Chief Brigadier General of Police Agus Wijayanto, and West Java Provincial Police Chief Inspector General Pipit Rismanto.

In addition, there are changes in the West Kalimantan Provincial Police Chief position held by Inspector General Alberd Teddy Benhard Sianipar, North Maluku Provincial Police Chief Inspector General Arif Budiman, NTB Provincial Police Chief Brigadier General Kalingga Rendra Raharja, Bengkulu Provincial Police Chief Brigadier General Yudhi Sulistianto Wahid, Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Police Chief Brigadier General Himawan Bayu Aji, and Central Sulawesi Provincial Police Chief Brigadier General Nasri.

Not only that, positions of Police Resort Chiefs in Metro and major city jurisdictions are also experiencing changes. Among them are the Metro Depok Police Resort Chief Commissioner of Police Christian Rony Putra and the Pangkal Pinang Regional Police Chief Commissioner Indra Wijatmiko.

In the transfers, Polri also records promotions for 16 personnel to the rank of Inspector General of Police and 43 personnel promoted to Brigadier General of Police. Additionally, 16 other personnel received promotions to Commissioner of Police.
