106 buses netted in operation

JAKARTA (JP): A team set up by the City Land Transportation Agency netted 106 public transportation vehicles whose drivers violated various traffic rules during an intensive four-day operation which concluded on Monday.

The vehicles included buses belonging to the city-owned bus company PPD, mini buses owned by private companies such as Metro Mini, Kopaja, Mikrolet and several Bianglala buses owned by the private company of the same name.

Team leader H. Bubung told Antara on Wednesday that the violations committed by the drivers included leaving their vehicle doors open while in motion, failing to wear their uniforms and failing to observe traffic signs.

"Most of the vehicles were operating on the outskirts of the city," Bubung said. (bas)
