As many as 104 aspiring principals for senior high schools (SMA), vocational schools (SMK), and special needs schools (SLB) in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) are undergoing psychological testing before their appointment. The appointment will take place on Wednesday (25/3/2026). “As many as 104 aspiring SMA, SMK, and SLB principals will be appointed tomorrow, Wednesday (25/3/2026). Before that, they must undergo the mandatory psychological testing stage for aspiring principals before appointment,” said the Head of the Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) of NTT, Ambrosius Kodo, via WhatsApp message on Tuesday (24/3/2026). Ambrosius stated that the test is one of the requirements for aspiring principals who will be appointed. The psychological test aims to ensure the integrity, emotional maturity, and mental health of the aspiring principals. The test is conducted at the Naimata Regional Special Mental Hospital (RSKD) in Kupang. According to Ambrosius, the selection process for aspiring principals is carried out very strictly and has met several rules or regulations. The strict selection involves the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) and the National Civil Service Agency (BKN). This step, continued Ambrosius, is part of strategic efforts to improve the quality of learning while strengthening education management in the region. In addition, instilling an entrepreneurial spirit is also an important part in building student independence.
