103,000 Train Seats Still Available for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr Homecoming

However, to date, 532,000 tickets have been sold for the departure period of 11 March to 1 April 2026 from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station.

“We encourage the public to plan their trips and take advantage of the remaining tickets. Don’t wait until closer to the departure date because sales are constantly dynamic,” said Manager of Public Relations of KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo in Jakarta, Wednesday.

KAI Jakarta operates 86 long-distance train journeys per day during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr transportation period, consisting of 68 regular trains, 12 additional trains from Gambir Station and 6 additional trains from Pasar Senen Station.

It is recorded that the favourite trains departing from Gambir Station include train 6 Argo Semeru, train 8 Bima, train 118 Gunungjati, train 7006 Batavia, train 124 Cakrabuana, and train 32 Pandalungan.

The favourite destinations for homecoming include Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Bandung, Jember and Purwokerto.

Franoto said that the government is providing economic stimulus in the form of a 30 percent discount for Commercial Economy class trains, which will be valid from 14-29 March 2026 to help people get safe, comfortable, punctual and affordable transportation during the Eid period.

Specifically for the Daop 1 Jakarta area, the total number of seats for long-distance Commercial Economy class trains (14-29 March) is 329,000 seats.

“The total number of seats sold/booked is 226,000. For the Pangrango Commercial Economy class local train during the same period, 46,000 seats are available,” said Franoto.
