101 Shopping Malls Join Jakarta Festive Wonder, Discounts Up to 70% During Ramadan
A total of 101 shopping centres in Jakarta are confirmed to participate in the Jakarta Festive Wonder programme, which forms part of the Jakarta Ramadan Festival 2026. Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung is optimistic that shopping transaction values during Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr will exceed Rp 15 trillion.
“The 101 shopping centres participating in Jakarta Festive Wonder will offer discounts, which will certainly be larger in number compared to the New Year and Christmas period just past, and the duration will also be longer,” said Pramono at Bundaran HI, Central Jakarta, on Friday (27 February 2026).
“First, I want to break Jakarta’s shopping record from that period. The record was Rp 15.2 trillion. And this Jakarta Ramadan Festival, I hope, will exceed that because the timeframe is longer,” he continued.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also providing tax incentives to shopping centres and the hospitality sector to enable them to offer substantial discounts to the public. Pramono noted that the discounts on offer could even reach 70 per cent at the peak of the event.
“We will provide facilities and tax incentives for shopping centres, hotels, and others so that they can provide significant discounts. I am confident that at the peak, discounts can reach as high as 70 per cent,” he said.
The Jakarta Festive Wonder programme is part of the Jakarta Ramadan Festival, running until 31 March 2026. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is adopting the theme “Go Home to Jakarta” to encourage people to shop and enjoy various facilities in the capital during Ramadan and Eid.
Pramono said the Provincial Government is actually inviting people from various regions to come and experience the Ramadan atmosphere in Jakarta. He hopes the programme can significantly boost economic circulation in the region.
“If people worry about coming to Jakarta, we are indeed asking people to come to Jakarta. But what is most important is to enjoy Jakarta, shop in Jakarta, and then celebrate Eid al-Fitr in Jakarta,” he explained.
Beyond the shopping discount programme, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is also organising various events such as the Jakarta Light Festival and free public transport during Eid al-Fitr to facilitate residents’ mobility during the Lebaran period. The government hopes this series of programmes can enhance Jakarta’s appeal as a Ramadan shopping and tourism destination.
