Jakarta (ANTARA) - To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Winnie the Pooh character, the retail chain Super Indo has introduced a special loyalty programme in collaboration with Big Corporation and The Walt Disney Company.

During a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, the CEO of Big Corporation, Riando Sitanggang, stated that Winnie the Pooh was selected due to his cross-generational appeal and widespread recognition among the Indonesian public. “Winnie the Pooh speaks of kindness, friendship, and togetherness,” he said.

The loyalty programme features five types of Winnie the Pooh themed collections, including umbrellas, tumblers, suitcases, tote bags, and towels, all designed for daily use. According to Riando, the character maintains a vast fan base, ranging from adults driven by nostalgia to younger generations who know him through various media adaptations. He added that this marks the first time Super Indo has featured Disney characters in its customer loyalty programme.

Meanwhile, Yuvlinda Susanta, GM of Corporate Affairs & Strategic Event Management at Super Indo, noted that the loyalty programme is designed to provide a more diverse shopping experience for customers. “Super Indo does not want to be merely a supermarket where customers come to shop for daily needs and leave. We want to provide a shopping experience that fosters an emotional connection,” she said.

Under the programme, customers can acquire the collections by collecting stickers integrated with the MySuper Indo application. The accumulated stickers can be exchanged for the available collections according to the programme’s terms and conditions. In addition to the exclusive collections, the programme also offers a travel lottery for customers who meet the specified requirements.

Public figure Tasya Kamila, who attended the programme launch, remarked that the Winnie the Pooh character remains relevant as he conveys messages regarding friendship, togetherness, and facing challenges. “The character is still very well-known, both to millennials and current fans. The moral values presented, such as togetherness, friendship, kindness, and how each character has their own way of overcoming challenges, remain highly relevant,” she said.
