Commission III of the West Java DPRD has praised the achievement of significantly increased Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) receipts, which have risen up to three times over. Member of Commission III of the West Java DPRD, Tina Wiryawati, assessed that this surge is inseparable from the stimulus policy in the form of a 10 percent tax discount rolled out by the West Java Provincial Government.

According to Tina, this incentive has become a key factor in encouraging public participation. The discount has served as a catalyst for taxpayer awareness in fulfilling their obligations.

“This is not just an increase in numbers, but also a reflection of growing public trust in the government,” said Tina to Republika on Friday morning (27/3/2026).

She explained that the people of West Java are now increasingly aware of the importance of paying taxes. This is inseparable from the tangible benefits felt directly by the community.

Funds collected from local taxes, including PKB, are returned to the public in the form of infrastructure development, such as road repairs, bridge construction, and improvements to other public facilities.

“When people see the taxes they pay returned in the form of development they feel directly, then awareness and trust will grow,” said Tina.

Commission III, she continued, encourages the local government to continue maintaining transparency and accountability in budget management. In addition, policies that favour the public need to be strengthened continuously so that the positive trend in regional revenue can be maintained.

With this achievement, Tina hopes the provincial government can increasingly optimally explore regional revenue potential. Not only to strengthen fiscal capacity, but also to ensure development is even and sustainable throughout West Java.

Previously, the Governor of West Java, KDM, stated that PKB revenue had risen up to three times since the 10 percent vehicle tax discount programme was introduced. He appreciated West Java residents who have paid their taxes and utilised the discount facility during the Eid holiday.

KDM conveyed this through his personal Instagram post, @dedimulyadi71, on Wednesday (25/3/2026).
