what a flea-bag place that is too ... i was offered to buy it a few years ago, around Rp2M if i remember. it would certainly have been worth it as an investment, but the odium of owning such a place was definitely not worth it ...

Jakarta can expect to see 10 new hotels opening this year, ranging from one-star to five-star establishments, all of which are currently under construction, the Jakarta Hotels and Restaurants Association says.

Association chairman Krisnadi on Wednesday said that while the average occupancy rates for Jakarta hotels was only around 60 percent he believed the hotel businesses in the capital remained profitable.

“Jakarta is not saturated [with hotels] yet like in Bali,” Krisnadi said, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

He added that there were a total of 9,000 hotel rooms of various types in Jakarta, and that hotels in the capital were continually working to boost their occupancy rates by offering discounts and attractive packages for guests.

Data from the Jakarta Statistics Agency shows that the cumulative occupancy rate of star-rated hotels in Jakarta stood at mere 51.7 percent in 2010.
