10-Metre Landslide Hits Resident's House in Bogor, Destroying Walls and Roof
Heavy rain has caused a 10-metre-high cliff to landslide in Parung, Bogor, West Java. The landslide resulted in the damage of one house and the evacuation of its residents.
“Heavy rain with high intensity occurring in the Parung area caused a landslide on the cliff behind Mr Asmat’s house, resulting in damage to the property,” said the Head of Emergency and Logistics at the Bogor Regency BPBD, M Adam Hamdani, on Friday (3/10/2026).
Adam noted that the landslide was reported during heavy downpours in the Parung area. The resident’s house, situated below the collapsed cliff, was impacted, suffering damage to both its walls and roof.
“The details of the landslide show a height of 10 metres, a length of 8 metres, and a width of 4 metres,” Adam stated.
“One house has sustained moderate damage. Specifically, the roof trusses are broken, pillars have shifted, the central room walls have detached and cracked, and the floor of the central room is cracked,” he added.
Adam confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident. However, the house is currently uninhabitable, and the residents have evacuated to a relative’s house at the same address.
“There are no fatalities or injuries. Currently, the house damaged by the landslide is unoccupied, as there are concerns that if it rains again, another landslide could occur, increasing the level of damage and endangering the residents,” said Adam.
