At least 10 fire hotspots have been detected, with flames spreading towards the Watangan Valley, also known as Teletubbies Hill, in the Bukit Pengol area of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS), Probolinggo Regency, East Java.

In response to the situation, the TNBTS Management Office has temporarily closed tourist access to Mount Bromo through the Jemplang, Malang entrance since 10 September 2026. This measure has been implemented to support fire suppression efforts and to ensure the safety of all visitors.
