Jakarta – Commission XI of the House of Representatives will conduct a fitness and propriety test (fit and proper test) for 10 candidates seeking to fill five positions on the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

The fitness assessment aims to fill five leadership positions at the OJK for the next five-year term. Mukhamad Misbakhun, Chair of Commission XI, stated that the test follows a presidential letter submitted to the House of Representatives.

“Commission XI has received a direct mandate through the Speaker’s address during the second session of 2025–2026 that Commission XI will conduct a fit and proper test for OJK Commissioner Board candidates for five positions,” Misbakhun said at the parliamentary complex on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

According to Misbakhun, the presidential letter contains 10 names of candidates who will participate in the fitness assessment at Commission XI. All candidates will undergo the test in a single full day, from morning until evening.

Commission XI also targets making a decision on successful candidates on the same day after the fitness assessment concludes. “Our tradition has never been to delay. Once the fit and proper test is finished, we take a decision that very same day,” Misbakhun said.

Misbakhun noted that conducting the fitness assessment in one day is not unprecedented, as similar processes have been carried out previously for various agendas at Commission XI. He emphasised that swift decision-making is necessary to establish OJK leadership amid global economic uncertainty.

“We must provide certainty to the market. What must be decided quickly, we must decide quickly,” he stated.

After the Commission XI assessment concludes, the results will be brought to a plenary House session before being returned to the government for further processes, including the inauguration of selected candidates.
