10.9 Million Taxpayers Have Filed Annual Income Tax Returns via Coretax

The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance reports that as of Wednesday, 8 April 2026, 10.9 million taxpayers have filed their Annual Income Tax Returns (SPT) for income tax (PPh) via Coretax. The DJP has extended the filing deadline for individual taxpayers to 30 April 2026. The number represents approximately 71.84% of the 15.27 million filing target. “Progress on Annual PPh Tax Return Filings as of 8 April 2026 (Tax Year 2025) records 10,979,585 SPTs,” states the official DJP release on Thursday, 9 April 2025. This figure includes 10,724,614 returns from individual taxpayers, 252,543 from business entities, and 2,428 from business entities with different fiscal years. Meanwhile, Coretax account activations by the DJP have reached 17,855,749. The original deadline for individual taxpayers was 31 March, while for business entities it is 30 April. However, the government has extended the deadline for individual taxpayers to 30 April 2026. In line with this extension, the DJP has also waived administrative penalties for taxpayers filing during the extension period. “From 31 March 2026 to 30 April 2026, administrative penalties, whether in the form of fines or interest, are waived,” states the official DJP announcement from Friday, 27 March. The penalty waiver applies to individual taxpayers submitting SPT PPh for the 2025 tax year; paying Income Tax under Article 29 for the 2025 tax year; or settling any shortfall in payments and deposits of Income Tax under Article 29 related to SPT PPh for which the filing deadline has been extended.
