The Aceh Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections has channelled aid in the form of 10,235 hijabs to disaster victims in Aceh. This aid represents a mandate from the Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Menimipas) Agus Andrianto.

The distribution of this aid took place on Thursday (2 April 2026) to victims of floods and landslides in Aceh, particularly for women. The distribution was led directly by the Head of the Aceh Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections, Yan Rusmanto.

In its implementation, the thousands of hijabs were first distributed through several Technical Implementation Units (UPT) of Corrections spread across Aceh. The total aid allocated reaches 10,235 hijabs.

The Head of the Aceh Regional Office of the Directorate General of Corrections, Yan Rusmanto, hopes that this action can strengthen relations between the corrections apparatus and the surrounding community. He hopes the aid will be beneficial to the victims during the recovery period.

“We hope this hijab aid from the Minister can be beneficial to the mothers and our sisters affected by the floods. In addition to easing the burden, this is our way of strengthening the sense of togetherness and solidarity between the Corrections apparatus and the people of Aceh,” said Yan in a written statement on Friday (3 April 2026).

Menimipas Agus Andrianto previously visited the vocational training centre or sewing skills workshop at Cirebon Class I Prison in West Java (Jabar). Minister Agus ordered 5,000 adult garments and 5,000 hijabs for children living in areas affected by floods and landslides in Sumatra.

“Anyone want to donate t-shirts or whatever is being printed here (Cirebon Prison Vocational Training Sewing Workshop)? How many, 5,000 pieces? Can we add more, but the bill is on me. For the children,” said Minister Agus to the Director General of Corrections (Dirjenpas) Mashudi and the staff of Cirebon Class I Prison on Thursday (15 January 2026).

Minister Agus said he received information that female children in Aceh need Muslim clothing, including hijabs. Volunteers from late December 2025 to early January 2026 visited several flood- and landslide-affected areas, including Central Aceh, East Aceh, and Aceh Tamiang, and found that female children were hoping for hijab aid.

“Because it seems that donations of adult Muslim clothing are plentiful. But for children’s Muslim clothing and hijabs, there are still none, still lacking. So I’ll order 5,000 pieces,” said Minister Agus.
