Banda Aceh — The Regent of East Aceh, Iskandar Usman Al-Farlaky, has stated that 1,954 people from 601 families affected by hydrometeorological disasters in the regency remain in evacuation centres.

“To date, there are 601 families comprising 1,954 people affected by the hydrometeorological disaster that occurred in late November 2025 who remain in evacuation centres,” said Iskandar Usman Al-Farlaky in a statement from Banda Aceh on Thursday.

The regent noted that the evacuation centre locations are dispersed across 13 points spanning three subdistricts: Pante Bidari, Serbajadi, and Simpang Jernih subdistricts.

The largest concentration of evacuation centres is in Pante Bidari subdistrict, which has seven points spread across four villages. These four villages include Gampong Sah Raja with 712 displaced persons from 239 families.

One evacuation centre in Gampong Pante Labu accommodates 10 families with 39 people, who are sheltering at the Bahagia hamlet community hall. In Gampong Alue Ie Mirah, one evacuation point hosts 18 people from five families. Gampong Sijudo has two evacuation sites with 160 people from 40 families, with evacuees sheltering independently in tents.

In Serbajadi subdistrict, evacuation centres are spread across five points. One site at Karang Kuda hamlet, Gampong Bunin, accommodates 372 people from 100 families. Another evacuation centre at Bugak hamlet, Gampong Sunti, houses 187 people from 50 families sheltering at the Sekualan Village traditional hall.

An evacuation point in Gampong Umah Taring accommodates 180 people from 55 families sheltering at Loot Jering primary school. Gampong Ujung Karang has one evacuation site with 18 people from five families sheltering independently in family tents at Tembolon hamlet.

“Meanwhile, in Simpang Jernih subdistrict, there is one evacuation centre in Gampong Ranto Panjang accommodating 221 people from 70 families, who have established temporary shelters,” said Iskandar Usman Al-Farlaky.
