A total of 1,900 joint personnel will be on patrol every night throughout Ramadan in Jakarta, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Satriadi Gunawan, said in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Satriadi explained that the 1,900 members comprise a combined force from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri). The joint patrols are expected to ensure that this year’s Ramadan proceeds safely and comfortably.

Beyond patrols, Satriadi said his agency has already begun conducting raids on alcoholic beverages ahead of Ramadan.

“We routinely carry out enforcement operations against alcoholic drinks across all five municipal areas,” he said.

In operations conducted at three locations across Jakarta last weekend, officers successfully seized 184 bottles of alcoholic beverages of various brands.

According to the summary data, the largest seizure took place in Kembangan sub-district, where 108 bottles were confiscated on Friday afternoon (13 February 2026).

At roughly the same time, officers also secured 51 bottles of alcohol in Matraman sub-district and a further 25 bottles in Pulogadung sub-district.

Regarding the enforcement of nightclub closures during Ramadan, Satriadi said his agency is still awaiting a circular letter to be issued by the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf).

Satriadi also urged the public not to hold “Sahur On The Road” (SOTR) gatherings during Ramadan.

“We urge the public not to carry out such activities. Furthermore, civil organisations must not conduct ‘sweeps’ of restaurants,” Satriadi said.
