1.85 Million Tax Delinquents Receive Warning Emails from DJP
The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) at the Ministry of Finance has sent electronic reminder letters, or emails, to taxpayers who still have tax arrears. Director of Counselling, Services, and Public Relations Inge Diana Rismawanti stated that a total of 1,853,654 taxpayers have been sent these reminder emails. Inge explained that the delinquent taxpayers targeted by the email reminders were identified using a Behavioural Insights (BI) approach to tax collection. This approach has been used by the DJP since 2023, adopting results already utilised by countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, Australia, and New Zealand. Taxpayers who receive an arrears reminder email must first ensure that the sender is the Directorate General of Taxes, with the sender’s email domain being @pajak.go.id. According to Announcement Number Peng-39/PJ.09/2026, the email represents the DJP’s commitment to helping taxpayers resolve their tax administration smoothly and without obstacles. Once the email is confirmed as an official communication from the Directorate General of Taxes, the following steps should be taken: a. Open the Coretax DJP page via the link https://coretaxdjp.pajak.go.id. b. Create a billing code by selecting the ‘Pembayaran’ (Payment) menu. c. Click ‘Pembuatan Kode Billing atas Tagihan Pajak’ (Create Billing Code for Tax Bill). d. Select and tick the bill to be paid. e. Fill in the payment amount in the ‘Amount You Want to Pay’ column. f. Click ‘Buat Kode Billing’ (Create Billing Code). g. Make the payment through official channels at a bank teller, ATM, mobile/internet banking, or e-commerce using the MPN-G2 menu. The announcement stated that delaying the settlement of tax bills may result in sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations.
