1,686 Personnel Deployed to Secure Rally Supporting Free Nutritious Meals Programme in Central Jakarta

Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 1,686 joint personnel from the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Central Jakarta Metro Police, and local police sectors have been placed on standby to escort a demonstration supporting the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme in the Central Jakarta area on Wednesday.

The Head of Public Relations for the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Iptu Erlyn Sumantri, stated that the protest was organised by the Presidium of Volunteers and Sympathisers Supporting MBG, alongside several other elements.

“Security for the demonstration by the Presidium of Volunteers and Sympathisers Supporting MBG and several other groups in the Gambir area is planned to commence at 09:00 WIB,” Erlyn said in a written statement on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, traffic diversions at the protest site will be implemented situationally, taking into account the number of participants on the ground.

Members of the public are also advised to avoid the area surrounding the protest site to anticipate potential traffic congestion.
