In addition to good behaviour, the granting of this remission also serves as a fulfilment of the rights of inmates who have met the administrative and substantive requirements in accordance with applicable provisions. In a statement received in Jakarta on Saturday, the remission was carried out after the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H prayers within the Jakarta Narcotics Prison premises. The remission was symbolically handed over by the Head of Jakarta Narcotics Prison, Syarpani, to representatives of the inmates. Syarpani stated that of the total 1,603 inmates receiving remission, 1,588 obtained RK I, which is a partial reduction in sentence, while the other 15 obtained RK II. “We hope that this Eid al-Fitr momentum can serve as motivation for all inmates to continue improving themselves and preparing to return to society,” said Syarpani. He added that the Class IIA Jakarta Narcotics Prison continues to commit to providing optimal guidance to inmates, both through personality development and independence training, so that prison residents can return as better and more productive individuals after completing their sentences. Syarpani continued that the Eid al-Fitr momentum at the Class IIA Jakarta Narcotics Prison is not only a celebration of the day of victory but also a means of reflection and new hope for inmates to shape a better future. He hopes that with this Special Eid al-Fitr Remission, the inmates can increase their enthusiasm to participate more maximally in the guidance process.
