Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 1,598 residents of Cilangkap Ward, Cipayung District, East Jakarta, received rice and cooking oil assistance distributed in the ward office courtyard.

“The aid recipients come from six Neighbourhood Units (RW) covering beneficiary families from the programme who are indeed eligible and in need,” said East Jakarta Mayor Munjirin when contacted in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Cilangkap Ward Head Suratno stated that the aid was handed over to residents receiving the Family Hope Programme (PKH), Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT), and Jakarta Elderly Card (KLJ).

Each recipient received 20 kilograms of Bulog rice and four litres of cooking oil. The distribution of the aid was carried out in stages with a queuing system to maintain order.

In addition, Suratno explained that the distributed aid is the allocation for the period from March to April 2026 as part of the government’s efforts to assist in meeting the community’s food needs.

“This aid is the March-April 2026 allocation to help residents meet their daily food needs,” said Suratno.

The distribution process took place over three days, from 21 to 23 April 2026. On the first day, distribution was carried out for residents of RW 01 and RW 02, continued on the second day for RW 03 and RW 04, and on the third day for RW 05 and RW 06.

Based on ward data, the number of aid recipients in each RW includes 199 residents in RW 01, 228 in RW 02, 278 in RW 03, 310 in RW 04, 289 in RW 05, and 216 in RW 06.

One resident of RT 006/RW 01, Fayzah, expressed her gratitude for the aid received. According to her, the aid greatly helps ease daily needs.

“We are very grateful and thankful. This aid greatly helps the family’s needs,” said Fayzah.
