1,500 Joint Personnel on Standby Ahead of Gibran's Visit to NTT Tomorrow
Some 1,500 personnel have been placed on standby ahead of the working visit of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, to Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) tomorrow, Monday (6/5/2026). Commander of the 161/Wira Sakti Regional Military Command in Kupang, Brigadier General TNI Hendro Cahyono, stated that the local government along with the TNI and Police have held regional coordination meetings (rakorwil) up to VIP security coordination meetings.
“Our personnel are all ready; this afternoon we held a rakorwil with the government, and now we are conducting a security coordination meeting,” said Hendro after leading a troop assembly ceremony at the Makorem 161/Wira Sakti Field on Sunday (5/4/2026).
He emphasised that security for the Vice President’s working visit is fully prepared. “Everything is ready from all sides, both TNI-Polri and other institutions, and we have already conducted the troop assembly earlier,” he added.
Hendro requested that the public also provide a good welcome when Vice President Gibran arrives in Kupang. “We ask the public, because this is our event in NTT and the one inviting him is the NTT community; we hope to welcome RI 2 well,” stressed Hendro.
According to Hendro, during his visit, Gibran is scheduled to open the Easter parade which will start from the Tirosa Roundabout (PU).
“The working visit is for one day only; the main point is that he is coming to attend the opening of the Easter parade at the PU Roundabout. Then, there are plans for three other locations to be visited,” concluded Hendro.
