1,418 Combined Personnel Secure Idul Fitri and Nyepi Celebrations in Bogor City
A total of 1,418 combined military and police personnel from the TNI-Polri and Bogor City Government have been deployed to secure the Idul Fitri and Nyepi celebrations in Bogor City. Bogor City Mayor Dedie Rachim expressed hope that the homecoming exodus would proceed safely.
“The total personnel involved consists of 1,418 personnel comprising a combination of the military, police and local government, as well as community resources. Together we will implement measures to ensure the security of the homecoming and return journey as thoroughly as possible, so that the public remains comfortable and safe,” said Dedie on Thursday (12 March 2026).
Dedie assured that the thousands of personnel involved had been prepared to provide security throughout the Eid holiday period. Dedie noted that community resources would also be optimised in the security implementation to assist TNI and Polri personnel.
“Of course, in accordance with the National Police Chief’s instructions that I read out at the assembly, there are still many matters that need to be coordinated and collaborated. Particularly community resources, which could subsequently reduce the burden of tasks for the police, military and local government,” said Dedie.
At Operation Ketupat 2026 assembly, the Police Chief of Bogor City Brigadier General Rio Wahyu Anggoro and the Military Commander of Bogor City District (Dandim 0606) Colonel Gan Rusgana were also present.
Brigadier General Rio stated that a safe and comfortable law and order situation is a priority during security operations throughout the Eid season in Bogor City, including in the event that Idul Fitri and Nyepi fall on the same date.
“We will work hard and do our utmost to provide security during Idul Fitri celebrations,” Rio said.
“If the government determines that Idul Fitri falls on 20 March, we will also implement the celebration of the Hindu religious holiday of Nyepi. I urge all members of the community to maintain tolerance between religious communities. When there is takbiran, let us also show respect to the Hindu community celebrating Nyepi,” he added.
To ensure public security and comfort, the Police and Military in Bogor City are offering free vehicle parking for residents travelling for the holiday. Regular patrols of residential homes left vacant by their owners will also be conducted.
“Together with the Military Commander under the leadership of the Mayor, we will do our utmost to maintain security and public order during the period before and after Idul Fitri,” said Rio.
