Managing a business in the modern era requires Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to look beyond just products and customers. A deep understanding of digital marketing, accurate pricing calculations, the utilisation of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and financial management is essential to remain competitive and sustainable.

These strategic needs are the primary focus of the ‘Teras Perragia’ (Meeting, Greeting, and Sharing Entrepreneur Circles) Special 2026 Anniversary series. This programme, initiated by Grab and OVO Financial, equips 1,400 GrabMerchant partners in 10 major cities across Indonesia, including Medan, Bandung, Palembang, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Makassar, Balikpapan, and Jakarta.

Entering its fifth year, Teras Perwira 2026 carries the theme ‘Smart Selling, Resilient Business’. The programme, running from August to early September 2026, provides practical material that can be directly applied to daily business operations.

One of the greatest challenges for MSMEs today is product visibility amidst intense competition. Through workshop sessions, partners received training on various aspects of business growth.

Roy Nugroho, Director of Commercial at Grab Indonesia, emphasised that changing consumer behaviour requires business owners to pay attention to more business aspects. According to him, the current challenge for merchants is not only presenting relevant products but ensuring those products reach consumers at the right time.

“Merchants need to understand trends and consumer behaviour, increase product visibility, innovate through collaboration, and utilise data and technology such as GrabAds and the GrabMerchant AI Assistant,” said Roy.

The benefits of implementing these digital strategies are being felt directly by business owners. Adli Abu Abdillah, owner of Geprek Yuksss in Makassar, shared his experience using GrabAds, which contributed to a revenue growth of over 120% within the last year.

“Amidst the increasingly fierce competition in the culinary business, we must continue to innovate. After trying GrabAds, our number of customers increased,” Adli revealed. He also added that innovation does not always mean creating new products, but can involve developing existing menus and product bundling collaborations, such as his partnership with Coca-Cola.

With this comprehensive training, MSMEs are expected to not only survive but also possess the resilience to continue growing through an integrated digital ecosystem.
