PT Jasa Marga (Persero) recorded 1.4 million, or precisely 1,483,703 vehicles, leaving the Jabotabek region during the period from Wednesday (11 March 2026) to Wednesday (18 March 2026), or H-10 to H-3 of the Eid al-Fitr holiday. This figure is the cumulative traffic flow from four main toll gates: Cikupa GT (from the Merak direction), Ciawi GT (from the Puncak direction), Cikampek Main GT (from the Trans Java direction), and Kalihurip Main GT (from the Bandung direction). “The total traffic volume leaving the Jabotabek area has increased by 30.1 percent compared to normal traffic of 1,140,021 vehicles,” said Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono in his statement on Thursday (19 March 2026). In detail, the majority of vehicles exiting Jabotabek headed east (Trans Java and Bandung) with 788,710 vehicles, or 53.1 percent of the total mudik traffic flow. Meanwhile, those heading west (Merak) numbered 402,945 vehicles, or about 27.2 percent, and south (Puncak) 292,048 vehicles, or about 19.7 percent. Specifically for the east direction, vehicles heading to Trans Java via Cikampek Main GT on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road totalled 523,223, up 132.4 percent from normal traffic. Vehicles heading to Bandung via Kalihurip Main GT on the Cipularang Toll Road numbered 265,487, increasing 6.8 percent from normal traffic. “The total traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java and Bandung through these two GTs was 788,710 vehicles, rising 66.5 percent from normal traffic,” he explained. For the west direction, vehicles heading to Merak via Cikupa GT on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road numbered 402,945, up 4.7 percent from normal traffic. For the south direction, the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek heading to Puncak via Ciawi GT on the Jagorawi Toll Road was 292,048 vehicles, increasing 3.8 percent from normal traffic. Rivan stated that the peak of the Eid holiday mudik flow occurred on Wednesday (18 March 2026) with a total of 270,315 vehicles, surging 98.3 percent compared to normal traffic of 136,326 vehicles, and up 4.62 percent from last year’s mudik peak of 258,383 vehicles. “Up to now, this figure is the highest traffic leaving Jabotabek during the 2026 Eid mudik flow,” said Rivan. Regarding the significant surge in traffic volume at the mudik peak, Rivan added that traffic engineering in the form of national one-way and contraflow was implemented at the discretion of the police to maintain smooth mudik flow. This implementation was based on data showing a significant increase in vehicle traffic volume from Jakarta towards Semarang, visual monitoring from CCTV, and reports from police officers in the field.
