1,360 Students in First Cohort of National Integrated Schools Ready for Orientation

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has reported that 1,360 students from the first cohort of the National Integrated School (SNT) programme, spread across 17 locations, are ready to participate in the Friendly School Orientation Period (MPLS) starting today. Director General of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, and Non-Formal and Informal Education (PAUD Dikdas dan PNFI) Gogot Suharwoto stated that the 1,360 students consist of 680 lower secondary (SMP) and 680 upper secondary (SMA) level pupils. “We conducted a selection process, or New Student Admission System (SPMB), from 2,068 applicants, and 1,360 students passed the selection. This is the first cohort of the National Integrated School for the 2026/2027 academic year,” Gogot said during the opening of the SNT First Cohort MPLS in Bogor Regency, West Java, on Monday. He further explained that the ministry initially received proposals for SNT locations from 114 regencies and cities. However, after a process of verification, validation, and field visits, the ministry, together with related ministries and agencies, decided that 37 SNT locations would be built this year. Of these 37 locations, 17 SNTs have begun operating in the 2026/2027 academic year, one of which is SNT 7 Parung in Bogor Regency, West Java. For the teachers and learning support staff assigned to the National Integrated Schools, the ministry has recruited 204 individuals selected from a pool of 60,000 pre-service teachers participating in the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) programme. These principals, teachers, and support staff have undergone a five-day training and preparation programme before being deployed to their respective schools. “We hope that SNT can become a place where our children learn, grow, achieve, and eventually give birth to future leaders who make great contributions to the nation and their regions,” Gogot said. The 17 operational locations for the National Integrated Schools include Bogor Regency, Cianjur Regency, Gowa Regency, Bone Bolango Regency, Tidore Islands City, Nusantara Capital City, Banyumas Regency, Jepara Regency, Subulussalam City, Tarakan City, Donggala Regency, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Minahasa Regency, Kupang Regency, Central Buton Regency, Tebo Regency, and East Tanjung Jabung Regency.
