JAKARTA — Minister of Hajj and Umrah spokesperson Maria Assegaf stated that 1,356 Mina Task Force personnel have been deployed to support services and manage pilgrim flow during the Mina phase of the 1447 Hijriah Hajj.

“A total of 1,356 Mina Task Force personnel have been deployed to support services, monitoring, crowd management, and rapid response to pilgrims’ needs on the ground,” Maria said in a statement on Thursday (28/5/2026).

Maria said the personnel are stationed at critical and strategic points to assist pilgrims moving to and from the Jamarat area.

“The Mina Task Force monitoring posts are located at strategic points including Road 616, Road 533, in front of Mina Al-Wadi Hospital, and Road 627,” she said.

Maria explained these posts are primarily tasked with directing Indonesian pilgrims towards Jamarat and managing crowds during the stoning ritual.

“These posts direct Indonesian pilgrims towards Jamarat, manage crowd flow during the stoning ritual, prevent overcrowding, and ensure returning pilgrims stay on safe paths without taking risky shortcuts,” she added.

In addition to the Mina Task Force, the Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) has deployed Mobile Crisis Rescue (MCR) teams at Jamarat Mina to bolster emergency response services for pilgrims.

She explained the MCR is a specialised team prepared to provide first aid and emergency evacuation during the peak Hajj phase.

“The MCR is a dedicated team and command post established to deliver first aid, conduct emergency evacuations, and ease pilgrim congestion during the peak Hajj period,” she said.

Maria said MCR command posts are stationed at critical points in the Jamarat area and pilgrim transit routes to enable rapid emergency response.

“This positioning ensures officers can monitor the situation in real-time, respond swiftly to emergencies, and provide immediate assistance to pilgrims in need,” she added.

The MCR is specifically designed to handle various emergencies, including pilgrims fainting, suffering heatstroke, extreme fatigue, and the evacuation of elderly and disabled individuals.

The presence of the Mobile Crisis Rescue team is part of our enhanced services to protect pilgrims, ensuring all on-ground situations are managed swiftly, accurately, and in coordination.
