Polda Metro Jaya is prepared to secure the National Dhikr and Prayer event at the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta, tomorrow. A total of 1,263 joint personnel have been deployed.

“Tomorrow, Saturday, 1 August, the National Dhikr and Prayer will be held as part of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia. A total of 1,263 joint personnel, consisting of Polda Metro Jaya, the TNI, and the local government, will be involved,” said the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi Hermanto, to journalists on Friday (31/7/2026).

Budi stated that entry and exit points for the general public at the Monas area will be provided at the eastern, south-eastern, and Ikada Square gates. Meanwhile, VIP guests will be directed to the western gate of Monas.

“The North-West Gate of Monas is reserved for the President, Vice President, and VVIP and VIP invitees. Personnel have been stationed to ensure a sense of safety and comfort for all attendees, as well as for the public’s routine activities,” he explained.

Budi added that parking areas have also been provided for the public. The police have also conducted site sterilisation as part of the security arrangements.

Traffic diversions will be implemented situationally depending on field conditions. The police are prepared to secure the entire series of activities.

“Our first priority is to provide access to the participants attending the joint prayer and dhikr at Monas. Secondly, we must ensure that the general public performing their routine activities is not disrupted,” he said.

“We all hope that the joint prayer and dhikr activities, as part of the Independence Day celebrations of the Republic of Indonesia, can proceed safely, orderly, and under control,” he added.

It was previously reported that the Ministry of Religious Affairs estimates approximately 100,000 participants will attend the event. The Director of Islamic Religious Information at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Muchlis M Hanafi, stated that the committee has conducted thorough operational preparations in the field.

“We are continuously preparing all operational aspects through close coordination with the State Secretariat, the Indonesian National Police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, the Jakarta Provincial Government, and all committee members. Our goal is simple: to ensure all participants can follow the National Dhikr and Prayer safely, comfortably, orderly, and with devotion,” he said in a written statement on Friday (31/7).

The National Dhikr and Prayer will be held at Monas on Saturday (1/8/2026). The event is expected to run from 17:00 to 21:30 WIB.
