1,170 sacrificial meat vouchers distributed as Padang Panjang prioritises disaster-affected residents
Padang Panjang City Government distributed 1,170 sacrificial meat vouchers to residents during Iduladha 1447AH on Wednesday (27 May), prioritising those affected by disasters and local communities. Three cattle were slaughtered at the Mayor’s residence compound following the Iduladha prayer, with Distribution handled by city officials and volunteers alongside locals. The animals were donated by various sources including the Bustanul Arifin family, Munter Gold Shop, Bandar Lampung Mayor, Lebak Regency’s regent, Dino Kusuma’s family, and other donors.
Mayor Hendri Arnis stated that Iduladha is a crucial opportunity to strengthen social compassion and sharing spirit among communities. He emphasised that the ritual transcends worship, serving as a means to foster unity and solidarity.
“Alhamdulillah, this year we distributed 1,170 vouchers, especially to disaster-affected residents and nearby communities. Even at the end of Distribution, any remaining meat was given to people who came without vouchers,” he said.
He expressed hope for the initiative to continue annually with broader support: “We hope this spirit of sharing grows into a culture of mutual assistance. May the donors’ contributions be blessed and bring blessings to all.”
Trisnia, a Pasar Baru resident, expressed gratitude: “Alhamdulillah, this assistance is very helpful. I hope such distributions continue annually.”
Similarly, Dewi from Guguk Malintang thanked the government and donors: “We are grateful. The meat will be cooked into soup and shared with neighbours.”
Distribution proceedings were orderly and smooth with high public enthusiasm.
