1,152 SPPGs Remain Temporarily Suspended: Reasons Explained
There is no compromise on the quality standards of the MBG Programme. All SPPGs must meet the established requirements to ensure services provided are truly safe, healthy, and of high quality for the public,” Dadan told journalists on Monday, 25 May 2026.
During the evaluation and tightening of operational standards, BGN reported that 4,581 Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) had their operations temporarily halted since early 2025 to undergo quality enhancement and service standard adjustments.
BGN stated that of the 4,581 temporarily suspended SPPGs, 3,429 have completed the improvement process and resumed operations with enhanced quality. The remaining 1,152 are still undergoing operational standard adjustments.
Dadan said Warning Letters (SP) were issued to SPPGs whose infrastructure was deemed non-compliant, such as lack of Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL) facilities and failure to register for a Hygiene and Sanitation Compliance Certificate (SLHS). SPPGs that have rectified these issues and met the standards were allowed to resume operations.
“SPPGs that have made improvements and meet all standards will be permitted to resume operations. We aim to ensure the programme’s quality continuously improves over time,” Dadan said.
Dadan also stressed that the SPPGs currently undergoing improvements are key partners that contributed significantly during the initial phase of the MBG Programme. Therefore, the government is providing them the opportunity to resume contributions after rectifying deficiencies.
“We value the contributions of SPPG partners since the programme’s inception. Hence, mentoring and improvement processes are in place to enable them to resume operations with better service quality in line with national standards,” he added.
