PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has reported that more than 1.12 million passengers took advantage of a government stimulus programme offering discounted ferry fares during the recent long school holiday period. ASDP President Director Heru Widodo stated that the programme was utilised by 1,125,711 passengers between 20 June and 5 July 2026, with total subsidies disbursed reaching Rp22,203,770,280.

Heru noted that the school holiday period served as a momentum for increased public mobility while also driving economic activity in various regions. Through the transport stimulus programme initiated by the government, ASDP successfully supported smooth travel by providing more affordable ferry services across eight strategic national routes.

ASDP is committed to carrying out government assignments by ensuring ferry services remain safe, reliable, and comfortable, while also serving as a link for inter-regional economic growth. The programme represented a tangible synergy between the government and state-owned enterprises to deliver more accessible transport services to the public.

During the programme’s implementation, ASDP realised 93.30 percent of its target beneficiaries, serving 1,125,711 passengers out of a target of 1,206,585. The total subsidy disbursed amounted to Rp22.20 billion, or 82.33 percent of the allocated budget of Rp26.97 billion. These figures reflect the programme’s effectiveness in reaching the public during the school holiday period, with an average of 143,977 passengers utilising ASDP ferry services daily.

The stimulus programme also had a positive impact on overall ferry transport activity. Total passenger and vehicle production during the period reached 525,882 units, an increase of 7.10 percent compared to the same period the previous year. In line with rising public mobility, the estimated subsidy value also increased by 8.28 percent compared to 2025, reflecting high utilisation of ferry services during the school holiday season.

In detail, the subsidies disbursed included Rp1.94 billion for foot passengers, Rp2.39 billion for Class II vehicles, and Rp17.87 billion for Class IVA vehicles. The total number of beneficiaries comprised 165,622 foot passengers, 160,317 Class II vehicles, and 799,772 Class IVA vehicles, all showing an increase compared to the same period the previous year.
