Masjid KH Ahmad Dahlan at Universitas Muhammadiyah Kupang in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has received a sacrificial cow donated by President Prabowo Subianto. The 1.1-tonne cow, weighing 1,105 kilograms, is now at the mosque’s courtyard and ready for slaughter for the Idul Adha 1447 Hijriah celebrations. ‘We see this as part of the President’s commitment to providing attention and welfare to the people of Indonesia, particularly in the eastern regions of East Nusa Tenggara, which have received this special cow from the President,’ said Farhan Suhada, sacrifice coordinator for Masjid KH Ahmad Dahlan, on Tuesday, 26 May 2026. Farhan stated that the five-year-old sacrificial cow was purchased from a breeder residing in Camplong, Fatuleu District, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. He added that the cow is still being cared for by its owner until the scheduled slaughter on Wednesday, 27 May. ‘There will be plenty of beef, which we can distribute to more people so they can also benefit from the Idul Adha occasion,’ he added. Farhan noted that President Prabowo had previously visited the Universitas Muhammadiyah Kupang campus. He stated this is the first sacrificial animal donation the Ahmad Dahlan Mosque has received from President Prabowo. ‘This is the first sacrificial animal donation from the President during President Prabowo Subianto’s administration,’ Farhan said. Farhan added that the slaughter is scheduled to begin around 9:00am WITA, following the Idul Adha prayer. The process will be preceded by a symbolic handover by East Nusa Tenggara Governor Melki Laka Lena.
