1,095 Joint Personnel Deployed to Secure Demonstration in Central Jakarta
A total of 1,095 joint personnel from the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Central Jakarta Metro Resort Police, and sector police have been placed on standby to secure a demonstration taking place in the Central Jakarta area today, Tuesday (21/7).
Central Jakarta Metro Police Public Relations Head, First Police Inspector Erlyn Sumantri, confirmed that the mass action was initiated by the KWINI 8 Bersatu Communication Forum along with several other mass elements.
“Security measures are being implemented for the demonstration by the KWINI 8 Bersatu Communication Forum and several mass elements at the Central Jakarta BPN Office, with activities planned to commence at 09:00 WIB,” Erlyn stated in a written release on Tuesday (21/7).
According to the agenda received by the police, after staging the protest at the BPN Office, participants are scheduled to relocate and hold a demonstration in the Gambir area at 11:00 WIB.
Regarding traffic flow management, police officers have prepared a traffic diversion scheme around the demonstration points. However, the implementation of this scheme is situational, taking into account the dynamics and the number of protesters on the ground.
The police have also urged the public to avoid areas around the protest locations to anticipate potential traffic congestion. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes during the activity.
