Jakarta (ANTARA) - A total of 1,000 hardwood tree saplings were planted in the Eduforest Urban Forest area, Bekasi Regency, West Java, to commemorate World Earth Day on Tuesday (21/4). The environmental restoration activity was carried out through collaboration between the West Java Region 1 Forestry Branch Office, Kertabumi, and Cermati Fintech Group as part of the company’s social responsibility programme. CEO of Cermati Fintech Group, Andhy Koesnandar, in Bekasi on Wednesday, stated that the Earth Day commemoration serves as a momentum for the business world to contribute more actively in supporting environmental sustainability. “For us, initiatives like this are not merely symbolic activities, but part of long-term efforts to create positive impacts for the environment and society. Through collaboration with various parties, we hope this programme can encourage more joint initiatives in preserving the environment,” said Andhy. The planted saplings consisted of 500 teak tree saplings, 150 mahogany saplings, 150 mangosteen saplings, 100 red bud saplings, and 100 sengon saplings. The tree planting involved stakeholders, local communities, environmental activists, and employees from several entities within the company’s ecosystem. Through this activity, the parties hope to encourage more collaborative initiatives in preserving the environment and increasing public awareness regarding the importance of sustainable natural resource management.
