Bali Hoteliers in Sanur, Ubud and Nusa Dua Say Christmas-New Year 'Fully-Booked' Situation Did not Materialize. The State news agency Antara reports that an anticipated downturn in domestic tourists to Bali over the Christmas and New Years holiday 2010-2011 has resulted in lower occupancy rates in hotels on the Kuta and Sanur Beach areas. Putu Sukarta, sales manager of the Inna Sindhu Beach Hotel, said: "At our place on Sanur beach the occupancy for the New Year's period is around 60%.

Indonesia to Offer Geothermal Drilling Rights in Block Tender Next Year
Indonesia will seek bids for 50 new oil and gas blocks next year through tenders and direct offers to help boost output, said Evita Legowo, director general of oil and gas at the Energy and Minerals Resources Ministry. The government will seek investors next year to develop 10 coal-bed methane working areas, Legowo said in a press briefing in Jakarta today.

Government Eager to Achieve 7 Percent Economic Growth
TEMPO Interactive, Bogor:President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is eager for Indonesia to achieve a 7-8 percent economic growth by 2014. The rate is above this year’s economic growth, which is expected to reach 6 percent. The President also hopes that Indonesia’s GDP can reach at least US$1 trillion. The effort to meet the target will be intensified next year. “2011 is the first year of our economic acceleration and expansion,” said President Yudhoyono at a meeting at Bogor Palace yesterday.
