Indonesia–Peru free trade deal opens new market opportunities for both economies

Indonesia and Peru have signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IP CEPA), eliminating tariffs on hundreds of product lines and establishing cooperation in fisheries, mining, energy transition, and defence. Building on bilateral trade momentum of US$479 million in 2024, the agreement provides Indonesian manufacturers clearer access to Pacific markets whilst opening Southeast Asia to Peruvian agricultural exports including cocoa, fruit, and sugar.
