Indonesia is beginning government compliance inspections for its B40 biodiesel programme, requiring fuel producers to blend 40% palm oil-based fuel, with full rollout expected in March and estimated foreign exchange savings of $9 billion annually. The initiative aims to strengthen energy independence whilst leveraging Indonesia's dominant global palm oil production capacity.
