Indonesia's palm oil sector is projected to reach Rp775 trillion (approximately $49.56 billion) by the end of 2024, reinforcing its position as a critical economic driver contributing around 3.5 per cent to national GDP and directly and indirectly supporting 16.2 million workers. The government is prioritising downstream processing of palm oil derivatives—including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and biofuels—to enhance value creation and maintain Indonesia's global competitiveness.
