Egypt opens market for Indonesian products

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Egypt said it was committed to opening its market and chances for Indonesia`s small-and-medium enterprise (SME)`s products. "I was invited by the Egyptian authorities and they expressed admiration at Indonesia, which can produce handicrafts from the source of a variety of materials, and that`s why they expressed readiness to accept all our SME products," said Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs, Sjarifuddin Hasan, in Jakarta, this weekend.

Nestle to relocate SE Asia factories to Indonesia: Paper

JAKARTA: Swiss-based Nestle, the world's biggest food group, is planning to relocate factories in Malaysia and the Philippines to Indonesia to be closer to raw materials, officials told a local newspaper on Monday. Brata T Hardjosubroto, spokesman for Nestle's Indonesia unit, told daily business newspaper Kontan that the firm would announce details of the relocation in November.

Malaysia Seeks Bloc To Control Rubber Prices

Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia on Friday proposed setting up a regional bloc with Indonesia and Thailand to control global rubber prices and keep production steady as the cost of the commodity rises. Hamzah Zainudin, deputy plantation and commodities minister, said the International Rubber Market, which would be based in Kuala Lumpur, would bring together the three top producers and Vietnam.
