Indonesia’s non-oil and gas trade deficit with China grew by fivefold in April, while the country’s overall trade surplus fell sharply, prompting more concerns from local business groups that the country was being flooded with cheap Chinese imports following the implementation of the Asean-China Free Trade Agreement.

Indonesia coal sector frets over new law, climate

Coal producers from Indonesia, the world's top thermal coal exporter, said the unpredictability of China's future import demand was also a risk faced by miners, as many are in the midst of ramping up output in anticipation of China emerging as a major net coal importer.

Sweden to open trade office in Jakarta

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Swedish government has decided to open a trade representative office in Jakarta to expand cooperation between the two countries. "Swedish Trade Office will be opened on August 1, as an indication of Swedish increasing interest in Indonesia," Swedish ambassador to Indonesia Ewa Polano said in Jakarta Tuesday. He said the five staff members of the new trade office will closely cooperate with the Swedish embassy in Jakarta.

Indonesia`s industrial product exports up 36 pct

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia`s industrial product exports in the first four months of 2010 jumped 36.66 percent to US$28.68 billion from the same period last year, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said. The figure accounted for 60.27 percent of overall exports in the January-April 2010 period, BPS Chief Rusman Heriawan said here on Tuesday.
