VP: bureaucratic reform not just rhetoric
Quoting: biznews Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono has said bureaucratic reform was not just a rhetoric or discourse but was a serious thing that had to be done. Pak Wakil Presiden Republik Indonesia: it *is* just rhetoric until you *do* something about it. oh, and setting up another govt dept to handle bureaucratic reform seems self-defeating, doesn't it? but hell, what would i know.

More products to be exempt from luxury tax
To further support the country’s electronics and information and communication technology (ICT) industry, the government plans to exempt more electronic products from the luxury tax as well as to restrict imports, Industry Minister M.S. Hidayat said Tuesday. The minister said the tax break and protection from imported products would be part of the government’s policy of prioritizing the development of the electronics and ICT industry in the country.

Tax Holiday Considered For Investors, but Bags Not Ready to Be Packed
The government is considering granting a “tax holiday” to some foreign and local investors, amounting to a temporary suspension of tax on certain forms of direct investment in a bid to reach the ambitious goal of attracting Rp 2,000 trillion ($218 billion) in investment per year over the next five years, the Finance Ministry said on Tuesday.
