Rising Indonesia
Few people in India are aware that India and Indonesia are geographically contiguous, sharing a settled maritime boundary. The last island in the Andaman and Nicobar chain is only 80 kilometres from the first island of the Indonesian archipelago. This narrow gap guards the entry into the Bay of Bengal and is also the gateway to the Arabian Sea and the Gulf, from the East. This geography imparts a special importance and role to the two countries as maritime powers.

Counterfeits Cost Indonesia $4 Billion Annually: Study
Indonesia is awash with counterfeit products, with losses in various sectors of the economy estimated at Rp 37 trillion ($4 billion) a year, according to a new study by the University of Indonesia and the Indonesian Anti-Counterfeiting Society. βThe circulation of counterfeit products in Indonesia is very concerning,β Ibrahim Senen, head of legal and government relations at the society, also known as MIAP, said on Wednesday.

Provincial govt set to receive relocated Chinese industries
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Palu city administration, Central Sulawesi, expressed readiness to accept the relocation of Chinese medium-sized industrial enterprises in the next five years. "We have already started land procurement in stages for the Chinese investment in the next five years. Some 70 thousand Chinese industries will be seeking new locations," Palu mayor Rusdy Mastura said on the sidelines of a seminar in Jakarta on Wednesday.
