Tax Holiday Negotiation Unsettled: Investment Board

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Investment Coordinating Board clarified statement made by Industry Minister MS Hidayat last week that the Finance Department had agreed with the agency to impose tax holiday. Chairman of the board Gita Wiyawan said on Sunday (25/4) the “agreement” informed by Minister MS Hidayat was still at a conceptual stage.

Business implications of the freedom of information law

The entry into force of the Freedom of Information (FoI) Law in Indonesia will have significant impact not only on government operation but also business. Business could either benefit, or in another circumstances, be harmed, by information disclosure through the FoI regime. FoI’s initial intention is in creating transparency of government. The congress in Bali is an attempt to look at how to better develop geothermal power as an environmentally friendly fuel for the future. Geothermal power is energy extracted from the heat stored in the Earth, and environmentalists say it could be the key to using cleaner forms of fuel.
