Two hundred Indians leave Batam
Batam, Riau Islands,(ANTARA News) - About 200 ethnic Indians have evacuated to Singapore following Thsursday`s riot which was fueled by a racist remark by an Indian worker at Drydocks World Graha, an Indian community leader said. "I heard that about 200 Indians have left Batam for Singapore," Indian community leader in Batam Devarajan Prakash said after a meeting with local government officials here on Friday.

Indonesia develops new growth centers outside Java
Denpasar (ANTARA News) - Indonesia is developing new economic growth centers outside the country`s most populous island of Java to support national economic growth, a minister said. "The development of growth centers puts emphasis on local resource-based manufacturing industries," State Minister of National Development Planning/Head of National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) Armida Alisjahbana said here on Thursday.
