BKPM Proposes to Add Promotional Office
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) is proposing an additional promotional office, the Indonesia Investment Promotion Centre (IIPC). ”The office addition is proposed in China and United Arab Emirates (UAE),” said the Deputy Head of BKPM Yus’an at the House of Representatives yesterday. According to Yus’an, the proposition to add IIPC office is aimed to develop a new promotion target.

China Relocates Textile Factories to Indonesia
TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Several Chinese textile companies will relocate their factories to Indonesia in a large scale. “But they have asked to be gathered in one area,” said the Head of the Association of Indonesian Textile, Ade Sudrajat, to reporters at the Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran, yesterday. Ade said that he met with his partners in China to discuss the relocation plan. The area needed by the Chinese textile company is around 350 hectares.

Taiwanese Groups Commit to Big Indonesian Projects
Two Taiwanese companies plan to invest billions of dollars in Indonesia’s petrochemical and biofuel industries, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa said on Thursday. He said that Taiwan-based oil and gas firm CPC Corporation planned to build a $2.8 billion petrochemical centre in Kalimantan, adding that the company had yet to decide exactly where to establish the project.

Summit on Infrastructure Investment Offers Opportunities and Frustrations
As the second day of the four-day Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Public-Private Partnerships in Infrastructure Development drew to a close at the Jakarta Exhibition centre on Thursday, delegates were divided about how useful the event has been so far. Some said it was run poorly and that it failed to address investors’ main concerns. But others said it was a good opportunity to explore Indonesia’s potential.
