Shoe makers expect hefty increase in exports this year
A big increase in exports is expected for Indonesian footwear firms this year, with a projected surge in orders from EU and non-traditional markets, a shoe producers’ association spokesman has said. Indonesian Footwear Industry Association (Aprisindo) secretary-general Binsar Marpaung said in Jakarta Tuesday that with the expected increase in orders, the country’s footwear exports might increase by 17.5 percent to about US$2 billion this year, from about $1.7 billion in 2009.

Indonesia textile exports expected to grow 12 pct
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia expects its textile and textile product exports to rise by 12 percent to between US$10.5 billion and US$10.6 billion this year after dropping by eight percent last year. Due to the global crisis in 2008 to 2009 the market of manufacturing products in the world has dropped including the textile and textile products that declined by 30 percent as demand was down, the chairman of the Indonesian Textiles Association (API), Ade Sudrajat, said here on Monday.

Indonesia, Hong Kong sign double-taxation avoidance accord
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia and Hong Kong signed an agreement on avoidance of double taxation (P3B) here on Tuesday to provide fiscal certainty and stability. The agreement was signed by Indonesia`s Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and the finance secretary of China`s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, John Tsang, at the finance ministry.
