RI to have brighter economic prospects in 2010
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Indonesia is predicted to have brighter economic prospects next year in 2010 in tandem with the recovery of the world economy on account of the country`s ability to boost its exports, an observer says. "The country`s economic prospects will be better if the world economy begins to recover in 2010," Umar Juoro, director of the centre for Information and Development Studies (Cides), said here over the weekend.

Bali`s pearl imports up nearly 100 Percent
Denpasar, (ANTARA News) - Imports of pearls, gems, gold and artificial accessories in the first three months of 2009, increased to US$4.4 million, or up almost 100 percent from 2.4 percent in 2008. The imported jeweleries were usually reexported after being processed in Bali, Gusti Viraguna Bagoes Oka, head of the Bank Indonesia (BI) office in Denpasar, said on Saturday.

Number of foreign tourist arrivals in jakarta increases
Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - Th number of foreign tourist arrivals in Jakarta went up 22.32 percent in May 2009 from the previous month. In May 2009, some 124,928 foreign tourists visited Jakarta through the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Halim Perdanakusuma air force base airport, and Tanjung Priok seaport, Agus Suherman, head of the Jakarta Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said here on Saturday.
